Details
Sydney Pennant
Willoughby Squash Club is part
of the northern Districts competition. This is an inter club competition
played between ten or so clubs on the north side of Sydney. Teams
are made up of five or six people. Four play on a comp night.
The comp starts at 8pm and can be played on any day from Tuesday
to Friday depending on the home clubs home night. The home team
provided supper and drinks for the visiting team. Willoughby is
Sydney's largest pennant squash club and has great success in
all grades.
Internal
Comp
Willoughby Squash Club offers a
mixed team's internal competition. The comp is run on wed night
and starts at 8pm. There are three people in a team. There are
three standards. No 1, No 2, and No 3. This allows people of all
standards to be introduced to a fun and friendly, yet still competitive
competition. The comp normally runs for 9 weeks plus finals.
Xpress
Comp
A new comp for social players of
all standards. A comp for the player that just wants to play and
go, no waiting around to play, no scoring of refereeing other
matches. The comp is played on Thursday night with thee time slots
available form 6pm. Matches are played first to 60 points.
Lunch
Box Challenge
The "Lunch Box" competition
is a flexible box challenge competition. There are six people
in each division. You must play against the other five people
over a six week period at a time that is convenient for both players.
At the completion of the competition the top two people in the
division go up, the bottom two go down and the two in the middle
stay in the same division. There are also prizes and incentive
prizes at the completion of the comp.
Masters
Competition
Masters is a competition run for
men over 35 and women over 30. The comp is played in the northern
districts on a Monday night. Unlike normal pennant that is played
to 15 points (PAR) masters is played to the traditional 9 point
system. The comp is mixed, normally three men and one or two ladies
per team.
Juniors
Competition
Willoughby Squash Club has only
recently started a new juniors competition. The competition is
run on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
The comp has over 70 kids playing in it and there are a number
of different levels to accommodate kids of all standards. The
divisions are ranked on the ability of the kids not on age.
